MOPS is committed to supporting the mental and emotional well-being of our staff and community. We recognize that mental health is an essential part of overall wellness, and that caring for ourselves, and each other, goes far beyond just one aspect of life.
That’s why we’re offering Mental Health Awareness Month Workshops around the 8 sections of the Wellness Wheel.

Our goal is to promote holistic well-being, encouraging people to explore all areas of their mental health and take meaningful steps toward balance and self-care. By focusing on providing practical tools and education like coping strategies, self-care techniques, and easy-to-access resources, we can help people manage stress and build resilience in everyday life.
Through this initiative, we aim to foster connections, ensure accessibility for all, and most importantly, reduce the stigma around mental health. By creating inclusive, supportive spaces and conversations, we hope to make mental well-being a shared priority in our community, now and into the future.

In 2024, our agency attended 32 community events, providing resources, fostering conversations to reduce mental health stigma, and empowering individuals to prioritize wellness. |

Created 125 Community Care Bags with essential items to support unhoused individuals and those in temporary housing, reflecting our commitment to compassion, dignity, and positive change in our community.
Organized a donation drive to support the YWCA, providing 91 women in the Residential Facility with hygiene products and household essentials, and offering families in the Family Center items like games, journals, and T-shirts to bring comfort and care during challenging times. |

Volunteered to support the ADAMH Levy campaign in both 2023 and 2024, championing the 2024 message of ‘Raising Hope, Not Taxes.’ |

An annual host of a The Big Table discussion by bringing together community members to engage in meaningful conversations about the issues that matter most. This initiative provided a platform for collaboration, idea-sharing, and connection, fostering a stronger sense of community and a shared commitment to making a positive impact. |

Invested in our community through participating in the annual United Way of Fairfield County’s Community Care Day. Together, we focused on recharging, restoring balance, and spreading support, all while embodying our mission to ‘Pass It On’ and foster a sense of unity and care within our community. |

To extend care to those in need, we created over 100 hygiene bags filled with essential items. This initiative reflects our dedication to making a positive impact and ensuring that no one in our community feels overlooked. |

Reaching our mission of community care, we painted colorful kindness rocks, each adorned with uplifting messages and creative designs and placed thoughtfully placed around the city to brighten someone’s day and remind them that kindness is all around. |
